"As we close 2018, I want to thank you for being part of our mission towards Sewa International’s “Toilet and Hygiene for the Girl Child” project.
My vision is to educate as many girls as possible in countries like India to break the barriers of gender inequality, and give every girl child an equal opportunity so her voice can be heard and changes can take effect.
We are growing at a tremendous pace in Agra, Lucknow, and Varanasi in the state of Uttar Pradesh, and Hubli in the state of Karnataka.
The next level is to ensure the health of the girl child through regular medical camps, dental and vision checks, along with community development. With all these the girl child is given the extra push to further her success.
Early this year in Bengaluru, we found out that 35 toilets installed by us had been removed from their original locations by a political party. We searched for these toilets and found where they had been dumped and reinstalled them in the slums and schools where they were needed.
We not only concentrate on building toilets but we also see to it that they are maintained well and do not fall into the wrong hands.
We are also making sure corrupt authorities are exposed and are forced by the community to return the goods they have stolen.
Since 2014, Sewa International has been tirelessly working in Bharat/India by providing toilets in girls’ schools.
Our “Toilet and Hygiene” poster won the best poster award at the World Hindu Congress held in Chicago, September 2018.
I like to thank each and every one of you for believing in this cause and supporting us through your generosity. We want to continue our progress in the years to come. We seek your continued support so that as affluent Americans we can make a difference and feel proud to be a part of the change.
